Delhi Development Authority, or in short DDA, has been at the forefront of all developmental activities that have continuously been changing the face of this capital city since its inception in the year 1957. Constituted under the Delhi Development Act of 1957, with an objective to promote and secure the progress of Delhi at all fronts, DDA has so far accomplished a number of project-based tasks and given a spur to the all-round development of the city. Its achievements over the years are not confined to any single domain of real estate but penetrate deep into all segments of infrastructural development and residential and commercial constructions.
The onus of perpetuating the planned development of Delhi initiated by the legendary architects Edward Lutyens and Herbert Baker during the British era fell squarely on the Delhi Development Authority the moment it came into existence. There is no denying that DDA has played its role pretty well despite the challenges it has to face from time to time, be it the burgeoning population or the depleting resources. To date, DDA has developed a large number of residential units, commercial shops, office spaces, sports complexes, community centers, parks, golf courses, multi-facility gyms and several other structures. DDA Delhi
DDA has always worked under a well-laid plan to achieve an integrated approach towards the complete development of Delhi and bring it at par with some of the best cities of the world. The first ever Master Plan that aims to streamline the process of real estate growth in the city dates back to 1962. The implementation of this plan saw the emergence of several residential on the lands and areas identified by DDA. The Master Plan was revised, first in 1982 and then in 2007, to finally bring into existence Master Plan 2021.
