DDA Delhi, which is a short reference to the Delhi Development Authority, was the first of its kind in India when it came into existence in 1957 under a Constitutional Act of the Parliament. A pioneer in the field of urban development and planned growth for a metro city like Delhi, DDA has created milestones and achieved great success during its long journey so far. The work it has rendered in the formulation of a Master Plan that is most relevant in addressing the immediate and future requirements of the city as well as in its execution within a strict time frame is a benchmark for other development authorities of the country. Rohini, Vasant Kunj, Dwarka, Lok Nayak Puram and R.K. Puram are just a few areas in West, East and South Delhi that have been developed under various residential and commercial projects of Delhi Development Authority.
DDA Master Plan 2021
DDA Master Plan 2021 has been prepared taking into account the ever-growing housing and infrastructural requirements of Delhi metro city. With the growing population and depleting resources to meet their housing and other requirements pertaining to infrastructure and amenities, DDA is faced with challenges from all corners. In spite of this, it has defied all constraints and emerged as the largest provider of housing solutions at reasonable rates to different categories of people across the city. DDA Master Plan 2021 has envisaged in its draft the future requirements of the people residing in the city of Delhi circa 2021. The draft not just identifies the problems of the coming years but also suggests measures to solve most of these through a series of planned development work.
DDA Flats in Delhi
DDA Delhi has carried out a number of planned activities in the realm of housing construction, land development, infrastructure improvement, urban heritage and sports. It has constructed a large number of residential flats and apartment buildings at several locations in the metro city and made them available for sale to people of different income ranges. Each year, we see a new housing scheme from DDA inviting applications from general public for the allotment of flats it has built at various locations. A lottery draw is usually conducted to bring impartiality in the allotment of flats. The draw results are published in the leading newspapers of the country and are also made available online. Some times tenders are issued or auctions are carried out to dispose of the building structures that DDA has under its possession.
