MHADA 2010 Housing Scheme
MHADA has announced the sale of available flats and tenements in a number of colonies dotting the city of Mumbai. The advertisement for MHADA 2010 housing scheme for Mumbai appeared in Dec 2009, which set the last date for the sale and submission of application forms as well. The forms this year are made available in cooperation with the Saraswat Bank, unlike the previous year when HDFC bank was given the responsibility to distribute and accept forms for the housing scheme of 2009. The office of the authority does not sell or accept application forms 2010 though it offers relevant information and a host of resources online through its website.
MHADA 2010 housing scheme offers flats for sale in all categories and for all income groups, though the number of available units for each category and for each location varies greatly. You can get a location-wise details of flats that also include information on the associated scheme number, number of units available for sale under general and reserved categories, and the types of residential units along with vital details, such as carpet area in square feet, approximate sale price and the earnest money deposit (EMD) required at the time of booking.

The flats under MHADA 2010 housing scheme are available under following categories:
- Economical Weaker Section (EWS): Individuals whose incomes are below Rs 8000/- are eligible to apply for this scheme. Housing units are available in Turbhe, Mandale, Mankhurd, Gaikwad Nagar, Malad and Malwani at varying sizes and prices.
- Low Income Group (LIG): The families having incomes between Rs. 8,000/- and Rs. 12,000/- can apply for this scheme. The houses are located in Turbhe, Mandale, Mankhurd, Ghatkopar (E), Pratiksha Nagar Sion (Phase I & IV), Malwani, Malad, Kannamwar Nagar at Vikroli (E), New Dindoshi and Shankar Nagar at Chembur.
- Middle Income Group (MIG): Applicants with an income range between Rs. 12,001 and Rs. 20,000/- are eligible to apply for this. The locations for MIG flats include Ghatkopar (E), Pratiksha Nagar Sion (Phase IV) and Gaikwad Nagar Malad Malwani.
- High Income Group (HIG): These hi-end HIG flats are in the forms of one, two and three BHK flats, which are made available for people with an income of Rs. 20,001/- and above. The 1 BHK flats are offered at Navghar at Mulund and Bimbisar Nagar at Goregaon while a varying range of 2 BHK flats are being made available for sale in Mumbai areas of Versova Andheri (W), Ghatkopar (E), Shailendra Nagar at Dahisar, Pratiksha Nagar at Sion (Phase (IV), Dindoshis at Malad and Powai. The HIG flats in the form of 3 BHK row hoses are available only at Dindoshi at Malad.
Applicants must be over 18 years of age and should not be in possession of a residential unit or a plot of land allotted under any scheme of MHADA. A domicile certificate of Maharashtra and documents certifying the income eligibility of the candidates are required along with a completed application form. While MHADA office is not involved in the sale, submission and procession of application forms, the Demand Draft or Pay Order must be in favor MHADB, the Account No. being 020100100002710. Furthermore, the payment regarding Stamp Duty as per the State Government rules must be made by the applicants found eligible for the scheme.
MHADA 2010 Application Forms
As stated earlier, the MHADA 2010 Application Forms are not sold by any of its offices. The forms, on the other hand, are available at one of the 75 branches of Saraswat Bank, the officially-designated agency to coordinate MHADA in the sale, submission and processing of forms. As a result, you should visit any of its 75 counters spread across the state to obtain a MHADA 2010 application form on payment of Rs.100/- and also to submit it after completing. The responsibility to carry out a lottery on the processed forms also lies on Saraswat Bank, which has made available information regarding the last date of submission as well as the date of lottery draw results. The last date for the first phase of application has been extended further and it is now 21 Jan 2010 for the sale of Forms and Information Brochure, and 22 Jan 2010 for the submission of completed forms.
