MHADA Lottery for the year 2010 has been announced and the dates for the sale and submission of application forms have been fixed. The MHADA lottery 2010 forms are available at select branches of Saraswat Bank in Mumbai and other cities of the state. Saraswat Bank is the official coordinating agency designated by the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority for completing the process of lottery draw as well as for publishing its results. Starting from December 2009, the process of application will continue till the end of Jan 2010.
Though MHADA lottery system is free from any partial treatment, there exist special categories to give priority to some sections of the society when it comes to the allotment of flats and housing units under a particular scheme. Apart from the category of General Public, there are separate lists of winners for special categories, such as Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Freedom Fighter, Ex-Servicemen, Defense, Physically Handicapped, Journalist, Central & State Government Employees and Artist, and also for some identified tribes. Each category has a separate list for winners as well as for wait-listed candidates. The names under a MHADA lottery waiting list are arranged in such an order that the name appearing first in the list has the highest priority followed by the one appearing just below it.
