PUDA Building Bye Laws have amended some plans for the betterment of PUDA. It also includes the Roof Top Rain Water Harvesting in the building bye laws for the plots. It is in the process of making this amendment compulsory. PUDA building bye laws have urged to show the rising changes from time to time
Punjab Urban Planning and Development Authority came into existence in 1995 with an objective to provide the growth and the rapid development to the urban infrastructure. It looks into the matter of providing for the social and economic needs of the dynamic state thereby incorporating the modern trends. PUDA plans to build the infrastructure. It is devoted to provide planned residential, industrial, commercial and institutional plots for development in accordance with the latest technologies.
Punjab has the high productivity rate in comparison to the other small towns. PUDA offers plots for sale in the districts of Punjab. The new scheme of PUDA includes Amritsar, Patiala, Bhatinda, Jalandhar, Ludhiana and Mohali. The departments of the PUDA includes the Administration, Finance & Accounts, Projects, town Planning, Architecture. The zonal office plays the role in the land acquisition, urban planning and urban estate development.
The procedure to get the houses is to fill the application forms. The duly filled application form has to be received by the PUDA committee along with the fee of 10% of the cost of the plot. The allotment of the houses is done on the basis of auction. All the unsuccessful applicants get the money back within three months.
PUDA Building Rules 1996
PUDA Building Rules 1996 under the Punjab Regional and Town Planning and Development Act 1995 regulates the dwelling places in Punjab and also promotes the construction of dwelling places. The construction of the houses changes with the building Bye laws from time to time. The construction of PUDA affirms the building laws based on zonal levels. After getting the permission for the proposed building plan, the allottees are required to finish the construction of plot within three years from the date of the allotment letter received in accordance with the building bye laws. However, if the construction of the plot is not done within the prescribed limit, then an extension can be sought for the completion of construction work on the allotted plots by paying the extension fee and also by indicating the excuse.
