PUDA New schemes will be coming soon with the newly-developed plots and apartments. At present there is no current scheme of PUDA but it is expected that soon many new schemes will be launched in cities like Amritsar, Mohali, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Patiala and Bhatinda. To allot houses and plots to different sections of people, PUDA invites the application for the various schemes from time to time. The information about the schemes is available on the website and it also gets published in the leading newspapers. Allotment of the houses is done on the basis of a draw of lots. Depending upon the sizes of plots, their rates may vary.
Punjab Urban Planning and Development Authority emerged in 1995 to make plan and implement the same for the rapid development of major urban areas in Punjab. PUDA decides to pass the proposal for the advancement in the industrial, commercial, institutional and residential places incorporating the modern techniques. It aims to build the infrastructure and it also sees into the matter of fulfilling the social needs of Punjab. It also allots plots for the construction of schools, hospitals and other institutions. PUDA covers the area of Amritsar, Patiala, Bhatinda, Mohali, Jalandhar, Ludhiana. PUDA also monitors the master plan and sees for its effective implementation so that they could reach their desired ends.
The objective of the PUDA is to promote and secure the development of the urban states. It looks into the matter of construction of the dwelling places. The application process involves the submission of duly filled application forms along with the10% of the price of plot applied for. The allocation of the houses is done usually on the basis of auction. The unsuccessful applicants get their money back within three months.
