Alabama Association of Realtors

Alabama Association of Realtors (AAR), headquartered in Montgomery, is an association of real estate men at the state level and functions under the umbrella network of the National Association of Realtors. The Alabama Realtors Association has a strong membership of about 16,600 realtors who are united by their allegiance towards a Code of Ethics. The AAR members are engaged in various real state activities, such as sale, appraisal, lease and development of commercial as well as residential properties throughout the state.

The Alabama Association of Realtors, which is also known as the Alabama Board of Realtors, is the apex body of real estate professionals and serve as a platform to put forward the interests of real estate industry in the state. It also serves as the voice of realtors before state and federal government. The services provided by the Alabama Board of Realtors to its members include professional training, license-related education, public policy advocacy, annual conventions & conferences, frequent publications of magazines, reports, journals etc. There is a political action committee administered by AAR, which advocates the interests of the realtors and the real estate industry in Alabama, AL. This committee is known as the Alabama Realtors Political Action Committee (ARPAC).

Alabama Association of Realtors understand well the educational needs of its members and hence, it offers a galaxy of real estate courses and training programs to them. These courses are also available online and are grouped under the categories of residential and commercial designations.

Alabama Realtors Association: Courses Offered



The courses under residential real estate designations include
  • Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI)
  • Accredited Buyer's Representative (ABR)
  • Certified Residential Specialist (CRS)
  • Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB)
Under the category of commercial real estate designations, the following courses are offered through five commercial affiliate organizations.
  • Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM)
  • Certified Property Manager (CPM)
  • Counselor of Real Estate (CRE)
  • Accredited Land Consultant (ALC)
The commercial real estate professionals are served through the Alabama Realtors Commercial Alliance (ARCA). With the membership of ARCA, one can gain access to the largest commercial property listing service in the state. The members of ARCA are entitled to get discount on educational courses. They can also subscribe to the trade magazine, 'the Alabama Commercial Realtors', published every three months.
