Arizona Real Estate License Requirements

Arizona Real Estate License Requirements must be completed by every individual who is interested in getting the license.

Applicant must show the following proofs to get the real estate license:
  • In the past two years the license should not be revoked and in the last one year it should not be denied.
  • 18 years of age
  • Competent, honest and truthful character
  • Must clear the real estate license exam covering both national and state portion
  • Prelicensure education that include 90 classroom hours
  • Applicants for broker's license must also furnish the details of work experience that include two years of working as licensed real estate salesperson.
Character includes proofs of date of birth and Social Security Number (SSN). Any adverse judgment, disciplinary action, criminal records etc may become the reason for denial. No license is given if the person has been into the following situations:
  • Convicted of felony
  • Put behind bars
  • Under community supervision
  • On Trial period
  • Crimes of moral turpitude

Arizona Real Estate Licensing Requirements: Some Facts

Arizona real estate license requirements must be met by all applicants. As AZ is non reciprocal state, so out-of-state candidates must also meet the requirements of education, experience and exam in order to get the license. Furthermore all the applicants who have applied for the real estate license exam must clear that within one year of filing the application, which is also the AZ real estate license requirements.

Real estate license requirements in Arizona include 90 classroom hours for brokers and salesperson. This education must be taken only from the accredited schools of real estate. After the completion of course, Prelicensure Education Certificate will be issued by the school. This course must be completed as classroom study as no online, correspondence or distance learning classes will be entertained as the Arizona real estate license requirements for exam.

Expired license also needs renewal within a year of its expiration. For ten years the prelicensure education is effectual. After the completion of period, applicant will have to again get the pre-licensing education.

Brokers along with education should also furnish the details of experience. Give the Broker Candidate Experience Verification Form (LI-226) to your present broker. The form will be signed by the broker and then it should be submitted to the Arizona Department of Real Estate (ADRE). The Department generally takes three weeks to determine and verify, if the proofs submitted are true or not. So this Arizona real estate license requirement must be fulfilled on time. Th form will be returned to the candidate having 'Valid through' date. All other formalities of applying for broker's license must be done before the Valid Through date otherwise everything will have to be done again as per the real estate license requirement in Arizona.
