California Association of Realtors (CAR) is a premier trade association catering to the needs of real estate professionals in the state and guarding the interests of California real estate industry. It develops and promotes programs and services to help its members excel in their respective professional arenas. CAR aims at bringing unity among real estate practitioners and improving their skills and conduct through several educational programs and seminars. It also represents real estate men and matters concerning the real estate in California before the state and federal government. All these activities of California Realtors Association ensure the preservation of individual's legal right to own real property in the state.
CAR came into existence in the year 1905 when a group of real estate agents in Los Angeles came together to form California State Realty Federation in order to invoke fair practices in real estate transactions.
Over the years , the name of the federation got changed to California Real Estate Association and further to the present one, California Association of Realtors. At present, the Association has about 115 local boards with a collective membership strength of about 185, 000 Realtors giving it a gargantuan structure. For the members of California Realtors Association, it is mandatory to follow a Code of Ethics laid out by the National Association of Realtors (NAR) while doing real estate business.
California Association of Realtors, which is also known as California Board of Realtors, California Realty Board, California Board of Realty or California Board of Real Estate, offers a wide range of courses and educational programs to improve competency level of its members and bring a high standard of professionalism in real estate business besides providing numerous services. While professional designations, such as Graduate Realtor Institute command high popularity among its members, the preventative legal programs help them know the latest in the realm of real estate legislation. The services provided by the California Board of Realtors include online use of its huge database of real property listings covering the entire nation. The association also brings out magazines, reports, journals etc to keep its members well informed about the latest technology. CA Association of Realtors also create listing agreement and lease agreement for the benefit of entire real estate industry. You can obtain CAR standard forms from your local Association of Realtors. These forms are developed by experienced real estate attorneys and professionals, and are available in different kinds. Forms Lr-11 is one such kind, which is used for Residential Lease or Month-to-Month Rental Agreement. Another kind is LRA Application to Rent or Screening Fee Form, which is necessary for each occupant over 18 years of age. You can also access these forms in pdf format.
Furthermore, California State Board of Realtors offer WINForms Certified Trainer Programs to its members. WINForms are software used by Realtors to work with electronic forms, create transaction, email documents and do several other business related tasks.
