California Real Estate License Requirements |
California Real Estate License Requirements are laid down by the California Division of Real Estate (CA DRE). Real estate license helps one to become salesperson or broker depending upon education and experience.
California Salesperson Exam and License Requirements
- Applicant must be 18 years or older to get real estate license
- Must be the resident of US and should have proof for the same
- Applicant must not have any criminal record. If yes then the license will be denied
- College level courses in real estate is must in the list of California real estate license requirements. 135 hour courses must be completed to sit for California real estate license exam. In this 45 hours must be covered by Principles courses and 45 hours by Practice courses and the rest by elective course in real estate.
Further according to CA real estate license requirements for salesperson no previous experience in this field by the applicant is required. Along with this, applicant must get his/her education from the institute that is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. It can also be taken from any agency that is approved by the United States Department of Education. Along with this California real estate license requirements can also be met by getting education from the private real estate school that is recognized by the California Real Estate Commissioner. Any candidate who has completed just the Real Estate Principles can get conditional salesperson license
At the time of applying for real estate examination, applicant is required to submit the transcript showing proof of completion of three courses along with examination application.
California Real Estate License Requirements for Brokers
- Must be 18 years or older to qualify for license
- Applicant must be truthful and honest
- No criminal record
- Must have two years (full time) experience of working as salesperson
- Candidate must have completed the eight statutory courses to sit for real estate broker license examination in California
Candidate who has completed education for brokers' license examination is eligible to take salesperson license examination and that too without providing educational proof. |
