Delaware Council on Real Estate Appraisers

Delaware Council on Real Estate Appraisers is a board of the state department that looks after the licensing needs of real estate appraisers. It also makes regulations regarding the certification and licensing processes and takes steps to enforce them. The council is also authorized to take actions against those violating the state and federal laws regarding real estate appraisal in Delaware. Delaware Division of Professional Regulation

Delaware Council on Real Estate Appraisers is one of the several boards that come under the Division of Professional Regulation Delaware, which itself is a part of the Department of State. The main objective of the Delaware Division of Professional Regulation is to protect consumers from fraud and malpractices and ensure their safety by regulating professional licenses and providing investigative and administrative services. There are 33 boards or commissions under the Division to achieve the objective. Delaware Council on Real Estate Appraisers, being one of them, is entrusted upon the licensure and regulation of real estate appraisal practices in the state.

Real Estate Appraisal License

The council issues new real estate appraisal licenses to appraiser trainee applicants meeting the requirements it has already set. People who are already certified or licensed can approach the council for license renewal. Even licensed professionals from other states can also come to the Delaware Council on Real Estate Appraisers for their licensing requirements for the state of Delaware.

Real Estate Appraiser Training

In order to apply for appraiser trainee, one needs to have some education in the relevant field. The applicant must have completed 75 hours of classroom teaching in Qualifying Education including 15 hours in Uniform Standards of Professional Appraiser Practice. Along with the photocopies of your education certificates, you can apply on the prescribed application format, which must be verified by your supervisor. You will also need a letter of good standing apart from, of course, the license fees, which is non-refundable.

Real Estate Appraisers are vital for the success of real estate in Delaware . This is because no one except the licensed appraisers have the authority to assess the valuation of a real property or a piece of land in the state.
