Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC) is the part of the Division of Real Estate along with the Florida Real Estate Appraisal Board (FREAB). All these are the under the large canopy of the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. FREC constitutes seven members who are appointed by the Governor and the Senate confirms the same. Out of these seven, five are the licensed in real estate (four real estate broker and one real estate sales associate or broker) and other two are never licensed. The FL Real Estate Commission Implements the Real Estate License Law, Chapter 475, Part I. Rules that define the responsibilities and duties of the commission are contained in the Chapter 612 J of the Florida Administrative Code. Florida Real Estate Commission Forms

The main function of the commission is to protect the consumer and for this education is given to them along with the regulation of licensees. A candidate aiming to become a real estate broker has to pass the Florida Real Estate Broker Examination securing at least 75 points in grade. Once you obtain the required grade, the license is issued by the commission, however, it remains in inactive state until you submit a completed RE-2050-1 form.
