Hawaii Association of Realtors (HAR) was founded in the year 1968 with the primary objective of supporting real estate industry in the state and influencing issues and legislative matters pertaining to it. Its dedicated work towards the preservation of real property ownership right and free enterprise system has widely been acknowledged throughout the state. Consequently, HAR membership rose to 9,800 realtors making it the largest trade association in the state. Hawaii Realtors Association along with its six affiliated local boards and the National Association of Realtors (NAR) takes collaborative action for the realization of its aims and objectives.
Hawaii Realtors Association Membership
After joining any of the local boards for realtors in the state, one gets the membership of HI Association of Realtors and also National Association of Realtors. The members are to follow strictly a Code of Ethics while practicing real estate business and are provided with a lot of benefits and services. These services, which include legislative support, education, conventions, seminars, membership publication and standard forms for sale, lease and rental agreement, are available throughout the year.
Hawaii Association of Realtors advocates the business interests of its members before the state and federal government and ensures the participation of realtors in political and legislative processes through organizations, such as Realtors Political Action Committee (RPAC) and Political Communications Network (PCN). The legislative and political action programs of Hawaii Board of Realtors through these organizations encourages members to discuss freely with legislators on real estate issues and also benefits Hawaii real estate industry by influencing regulatory and legislative bodies.Hawaii Realtors Association MembershipFollowing are the products and services made available by Hawaii Realtors Association to its members:- Standard Forms: There are 29 forms to assist realtors in their various real estate transactions.
- Legal Action Fund: It exists to give financial support to legal causes involving real estate issues.
- Education: The Professional Designations made available by Hawaii Board of Realtors to its members are GRI, CRB, CRS and IREM.
- Industry Events: Business meetings, trade expositions, forums etc are organized to share ideas and create opportunities for business development.

- Information Services: State and national real estate news, latest educational opportunities, legislative updates, downloadable standard forms, association events etc are provided through Hawaii Realtor Journal and HawaiiRealtors.Com.
- HAR News Bulletin: It is an e-mail based service to announce HAR products, events, news etc.
- Volunteer Opportunities: It offers lots of opportunity to its members for working voluntarily in committees, task forces and forums.
