Hawaii Appraisal Board

Hawaii Real Estate Appraisers are licensed by the Professional and Vocational Licensing Division (PVL) of the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs Hawaii (DCCA). The PVL is the de jure state agency for implementing licensing regulations for as many as 46 different professions. Besides offering licenses to qualified people, the division also handles renewals and reviews, and maintains license records. There is a licensing branch, which has separate sections for handling license applications and maintaining records. The Application section considers the suitability of the applicants for the real estate appraisal licenses and can either issue or deny the licenses.

Hawaii Real Estate Appraiser License: Types

Hawaii appraisers are classified into many categories and accordingly, they are required to apply for appraisal license. These categories include Certified General Appraiser, Certified Residential Appraiser, State Licensed Appraiser. However, before applying for any of these Hawaii appraisal licenses, you are required to fulfill certain criteria based on the real estate appraisal license, you wish to obtain. You are also required to complete certain hours in continuing education and the course prescribed by the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).
