Hawaii Real Estate License

Hawaii Real Estate License is issued by Hawaii Real Estate Commission that comes under the Professional & Vocational Licensing Division of the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affair. Hawaii real estate license is issued to the applicant who is 18 years of age and citizen of United States. According to the Federal Laws and Hawaii Revised Statutes applicant will have to give the special security number while applying for the real estate license for the verification of the identity. Pre-licensing examination must be cleared before applying for the HI real estate license.

Hawaii Real Estate License For Real Estate Brokers and Salesperson

Hawaii real estate broker license along with the above mentioned general requirements also need certain specific details. Candidates must have the active salesperson license in the state. S/he can also have brokers license or salesperson license in other state. Applicant should have the experience of three years of working in the real estate sector as a full time licensed salesperson under the licensed broker. These experience certificates are shown at the time is examination and then submitted with the application for the real estate license in Hawaii. The experience certificates are valid for the period of two years.

HI Real Estate License Exam

Candidates from the other state can also apply for the real estate license in HI. For this they will have to clear the licensing exam. If the candidate have the real estate license in other state then after clearing the uniform part of the Hawaii's real estate licensing examination can apply for the status of equivalency. After getting this candidate will have to appear for the state part of the licensing. Along with educational requirements, the candidate must be honest, true and competent. But if the applicant lack any of these then before actually applying for the Hawaii real estate license, s/he can go for the preliminary and non binding decision of the commission regarding approval or rejection of the application. For preliminary decision submit the non refundable fee and application. Along with this every additional information like lawsuit, conviction, outstanding tax obligations, etc should also be given.

Hawaii Real Estate Licensing

HI real estate license for the partnership, corporation, Limited Liability Partnership (LLP), Limited Liability Company (LLC) and Sole Proprietor also need to be obtained. Complete Hawaii real estate licensing application showing the details of trade name, principal broker, prohibited names and place of the business need to be submitted.

All the real estate license in Hawaii that are issued by the Real Estate Commission are subject to the renewal before 30th Nov on every even year. If the real estate license is not renewed during this period then on 1st January of odd year the license will be forfeited. For the renewal of the license 10 hours of continuing education is required that should be taken from the continuing education providers approved by Hawaii Real Estate Commission.
