Idaho Real Estate Appraiser Board

Idaho Real Estate Appraiser Board is an agency of the state for real estate appraisal licensure, certification and regulation. The board has a service agreement with the Idaho Bureau of Occupational Licenses and under the contract, it is provided with administrative, legal, investigative and fiscal support from the bureau. There are five members in Idaho Appraisal Board who takes care of the licensing needs of the applicants. The board, after verifying the qualification and experience of applicants, issues Idaho real estate appraisal licenses to them.

Idaho Real Estate Appraisal Board: An Overview

Idaho Real Estate Appraiser Board was created in the year 1991 by the State legislature following a mandate by the federal government. The purpose was to protect public from unscrupulous appraisers and unethical trades by evaluating the credentials of real estate appraisers before issuing licenses to them. The Idaho Real Estate Appraisal Board is also vested with power and authority to take disciplinary action against violators of appraisal laws. A complaint can be made to this effect, if a licensed appraiser is found to be in violation of the real estate appraisal laws.

Idaho Real Estate Appraisers: Their Services

The job of an appraiser is to estimate the value of a real property in an independent and unbiased way. As a result, Idaho Real Estate Appraisers are required in many situations. For example, if you are in need of a home mortgage loan or home equity loan, you will need the services of a reliable appraiser to appraise your real property in an honest way. Similarly, the appraisal of a real property becomes necessary in case of a legal dispute in the state of Idaho. Real Estate Appraisal is required in transactions involving buying, selling or rental of real properties too.

Real Estate Appraiser License

In order to become a real estate appraiser in Idaho, an applicant must have attained the age of 18 years and have completed the high school diploma. Besides, they are also required to have successfully completed real estate appraisal courses as prescribed by the Idaho Appraisal Board.

At the same time, the real estate appraisal experience must be at par with the standards set by the Appraisal Foundation. When all these criteria are met successfully, the candidate has to pass a Real Estate Appraiser Licensing Examination in order to apply for a real estate appraisal license.
