Illinois Real Estate License

Illinois Real Estate License is issued to the candidates who fulfill the basic needs of the licensing. The Bureau of Real Estate Professions, which is in the Illinois Department of Financial and Profession Regulation (IDFPR) issues the Illinois real estate license. Illinois Real Estate Broker License Requirements

Illinois real estate brokers license is given to the applicant who is 21 years old and has the high school diploma. For the brokers license, candidate must have completed 120 hours of courses related to the Real Estate Transactions. But these courses should not be taken at the time of applying for salesperson license. Apart from this, 75 classroom hours of pre-licensing education must be completed. To complete these hours approved schools of real estate should be attended. Attorneys can also get the Illinois real estate brokers license if they are above 21 years of age and practicing law as per Illinois Supreme Court. All the applicant are given three chances to clear the pre-license exam in Illinois and if the real estate professional fail to clear it in these three attempts then 75 hours are again required to be taken to apply for the real estate license in Illinois.

Illinois Real Estate Salesperson License

For getting real estate license in Illinois as a salesperson one should be 21 years old. Along with this applicant must have the high school diploma or GED. Candidate applying for the Illinois real estate license must complete the 45 hours of real estate Transactions course. Attorneys can also apply for the real estate salesperson license and they exempted from completing the 45 hours of course.

Applicants from other states can also get Illinois real estate license, as IL has reciprocal agreement with ten other states. For this the age of the candidate must be 21 years. The resident of the reciprocal state will have to clear the real estate exam that is related to the state of Illinois. Along with this the applicant must be working as a licensed real estate professional for the at least two years. There are many approved schools that run Illinois real estate licensing classes.

IL Real Estate License Renewal

Illinois real estate license renewal takes place after every two years. For this 12 hours of continuing education are taken by the candidates. Recently there has been made changes in the Illinois Real Estate License Act of 2000 that is authorized by Section 2105-15(7) of the Civil Administration Code of Illinois. According to the amendments six hours of the continuing education is must to be done by the real estate brokers.
