Mississippi Real Estate License

Mississippi Real Estate License is received by the candidates after applying for the same with the Mississippi Real Estate Commission. Ethics, codes, rules and regulation of the commission for governing the Real Estate sector are according to the Real Estate License Law. Along with salesperson and real estate broker, real estate license in MS is also issued to the partnership, corporation and association. But for this every member of the corporation will have to get the MS real estate license as an individual broker.

Mississippi Real Estate Broker License

To obtain MS real estate license as a broker, candidate's age should be 21 and s/he should be the resident of the state at the time of applying for the real estate license. Along with this candidate must have an active real estate salesperson license for at least a year. Furthermore, 120 hours of broker real estate courses and pre-licensing examination must also be completed to get real estate license in Mississippi. If the candidate does not have experience of one year then s/he will have to attend and complete 150 hours of education.

Real Estate License Requirements for Salesperson

To get salesperson real estate license in MS, the applicants must be of at least 18 years of age and a resident of the state. 60 hours of course in real estate and pre-licensing salesperson real estate exam must be completed before applying for the real estate license. Salesperson after clearing the real estate exam gets the temporary Mississippi real estate license that is valid for the period of one year. To make it permanent within a year of issuing, 34 hours of real estate course, which are approved by the commission are to be cleared by the applicant. If not done then the temporary real estate license will enter into an inactive state. Temporary license is not renewed it lapses after the issuance of permanent real estate license.

Non-resident of the state if working as licensed real estate broker and salesperson can also apply for the Mississippi real estate license. In the state for getting license there is no need for the place of the business to be in MS but the candidate will have to actively engaged in the business of real estate. Certificate of licensure is submitted with the real estate commission by the non-resident applicant.

Real Estate License Renewal

Mississippi real estate license renewal tales place after two years and for this 16 clock hours are required. If you have taken more than 16 hours of the course then these are neither accumulated or transferred to the next renewal.
