Missouri Real Estate Commission

Missouri Real Estate Commission came into being with an act of the 61st General Assembly under the Missouri Division of Professional Registration. The Governor on July 31, 1941 had approved the real estate commision. All the members of the commission are elected for the period of five years. Out of seven, six members are from the industry of real estate with 10 years of experience as real estate brokers and one should be from the public. Members of the real estate commission in Missouri should also be licensed.

MO Real Estate Commission: Its Services

Missouri Real Estate Commission gives the real estate license after brokers and salesperson complete the required education and examination. You can apply for the real estate license with the real estate commission within six months of the completion of 48 hours of pre-licensing course. For the educational purposes MO Real Estate Commission also approves the schools and courses. Once real estate license is issued then continuing education for the renewal of the license is also required. Core courses for the continuing education is also given by the commission.

Reciprocity with other states is also allowed in Missouri but there are different sets of guidelines for the brokers and salesperson that they must follow if they are not the resident of MO. Such as Salesperson should take the 24 hours Missouri Real Estate Practice Course (MREP) before applying for the license. Brokers needs to complete the 24 hour Broker Pre-examination Course. All the matters related to the licensing are handled by the Missouri Real Estate Commision. List of candidates who clear the exam is also given on the website.

Real Estate Complaints

The complaints can be submitted by the consumer on the complaint form that can be downloaded from the site or the same for can be requested by mail over the phone. Then this form in written along with all the supporting documents should be submitted to the Missouri Real Estate Commision. The copy of the form is also sent to the broker and asked to respond withing 30 days. Complaints are also reviewed in the meetings that are held bi-monthly. Within 10 business days after the meeting the applicant is notified regarding the decision taken by the Missouri Real Estate Commission. The Commission itself also do the audit of the offices of the brokers and salesperson to check if they are working according to the real estate law or not.
