Nevada Real Estate Commission

Nevada Real Estate Commission has five members and appointed by the Governor. There also exist Real Estate Advisory Committee that helps the real estate commission. Both of these come under the Nevada Real Estate Division. Members of the committee are also approved by the commission. To become the members of the committee as well as commission one should be the citizen of US, resident of NV and experienced real estate broker or salesperson. NV Real Estate Commission: An Overview



Nevada Real Estate Commision was established as three membered Nevada Real Estate Board in 1923 according to the Real Estate Act. There was a president of the board who can call for the meeting otherwise the real estate board used to meet three times in a year. All the work of licensing, examination, complaint handling was done by the NV Real Estate Board and in the year 1931 it was also given rights over subdivided land.

It was renamed to the Nevada Real Estate Commission in 1949. Then the Department of Commerce with Real Estate Division came into being in 1963. With this NV Real Estate Commission was transferred to the Real Estate Advisory Commission. Now for selling or buying subdivision approval from the real estate division was made compulsory. But in 1981 it was again shifted back to the Real Estate Commission.

Nevada Real Estate Commission lays down the licensing, fee, renewal, fingerprint requirements for the real estate brokers and salespersons. Education providers, courses etc are also defined by the commision for the proper working. Willing students can get the needed education from the approved schools only. As the purpose of Nevada Real Estate Commission lies in the interest and welfare of the public.
