As per the statute of the State of Nevada , unclaimed property must be reported and remitted to the state agency, specifically created for this purpose under the Office of the State Treasurer. This agency is named as Nevada Unclaimed Property Division, which is responsible for recovery, preservation and delivery of all kinds of unclaimed money, funds and other assets throughout the state. The Division also provides tools to search for unclaimed money and helps people get their money back as soon as possible.

For most kinds of property, three years of dormancy period is normal. In case of wages, if the money is not claimed within a year, it is declared abandoned and is included in the database of unclaimed property. Thus, all Nevada Unclaimed Assets find their way into the database, continuously maintained and regularly updated by the State of Nevada Unclaimed Property Division.
