New Jersey Realtors Association

New Jersey Association of Realtors (NJAR) came into existence in December, 1917 when a group of local real estate men got together in Atlantic City. NJAR was initially named as Real Estate League of New Jersey, which in later years changed into New Jersey Association of Real Estate Boards and further into New Jersey Association of Realtor Boards. It is in the year 1971 that the association has acquired its present name New Jersey Association of Realtors. Today, NJ Association of Realtors is one of the 54 state associations affiliated to the National Association of Realtors (NAR) , the largest trade association in the country. Within the State of New Jersey, there are 24 local Boards/Associations of Realtors, which have a collective membership of about 53,000 people.
