The North Carolina Board of Architecture takes care of every matter related to the architect-licensing exam and also makes rules and regulation to be followed by the architects in North Carolina. Both individual licenses as well as corporate licenses are issued by the NC Board of Architecture. Individual license expires on the 1st of July each year whereas corporate architect license and registration expires of December 31st. Renewal is also done before the expiry date. These licenses are issued after clearing the examination but one can also get it through the process of reciprocity. For this, one need not to clear any examination but requires to hold current license from another state and a Council Certificate (Blue Cover). After getting license there are many ways of doing practice. Such as:

The College of Design in NC State University offers under graduate, graduate, postgraduate program in architecture, art and design, graphic design, Industrial design, landscape architecture. The university also has PhD programs in designs. The College of Architecture, The University of North Carolina Charlotte is accredited to the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) and offer Bachelor of Art in Architecture, Bachelor of Architecture, Master of Architecture I & II along with International programs.
