North Dakota Real Estate Appraiser Qualifications and Ethics Board is a state agency for licensing and certifying real estate appraisers, determining requirements for continuing education and handling complaints from general public against North Dakota appraisers. There are five members in the board who are appointed by the governor. Among the five board members, three are appraisers while one each from financial industry and general public. It is the North Dakota Bankers Association and the North Dakota Union League that prepare the list of possible candidates to represent the financial industry. The representative of the general public should not be working as a real estate appraiser.

The members of the board meet quarterly to consider applications for real estate appraisal licensure as well as several other issues concerning the effective administration of appraisal practices throughout the state. Before awarding licenses, the North Dakota Real Estate Appraisal Board thoroughly check the documents submitted by the applicants in support of their educational and other qualifications.
