North Dakota Real Estate License

North Dakota Real Estate Licensing: For Salesperson

Salesperson real estate license in ND needs 18 years of age and completion of 30 hours of pre-licensing real estate courses from the approved schools. These 30 hours are for the candidates who are licensed before 31st December 2005. Candidates who are licensed after this date require 45 classroom hours in the approved courses. After the completion of education real estate exam must be cleared but salesperson can given this exam before completing the education. After getting the ND real estate license, all the salesperson will have to attend 15 hours of courses approved by the commission.

ND Real Estate Broker License

The age for getting real estate brokers license in North Dakota is 18 years. Applicants must have completed 60 hours of classroom courses in the real estate. All the candidates who wants to apply for the real estate license for the category of broker need to clear the exam and clearing this after completing the education is must. Candidates should also have two years experience of working as salesperson in the state. Broker who cannot show the experience of working because of the constraints in the area s/he lives, can get exemption from the commission. In this case some of the educational courses fulfill the requirements of experience.

Besides these mentioned requirements, all the candidates must be honest in giving the services. Any one whose real estate license has been revoked in the period of two years will not be issued a real estate license.

Real Estate License Reciprocity

Reciprocity with other states allows non-resident candidates to apply for the real estate license in ND. To apply for the real estate salesperson or brokers license, the applicant along with residency must have an active real estate license in his/her respective state. Every state in the reciprocal agreement can be given individual requirement for getting North Dakota as well. Licensing examination is not required under this agreement. Along with this proof of errors and omission must also be provided to the office of Real Estate Commission at the time of applying for the licensure.

Real Estate License Renewal

North Dakota real estate license is issued for the period of two years. Real estate renewal occurs with continuing education. 16 hours courses for this are needed and six out of this must be completed in the first year of ND real estate licensing. Applicant who has been working in the real estate sector for the past fifteen years needs no continuing education requirements.
