Oregon Appraiser Certification and Licensure Board (ACLB) is the leading agency in the state to regulate and license real estate appraisers and appraiser assistants. The function of the board is not only confined to liciensure and certification alone. It also has to see that the licensees will work according to the laws of the state and the federal government. In this way, it acts as a primary body to protect the interests of the consumers and also to ensure a healthy environment for the growth of real estate in Oregon . There are seven members in the Oregon Appraisal Board.Appraiser Certification and Licensure Board OregonThe Oregon Appraiser Certification and Licensure Board offers licenses in three categories, namely, Licensed Real Estate Appraiser, Certified Residential Appraiser and Certified General Appraiser. A fourth category of license, Appraiser Assistant, is offered to those who are just to begin their real estate appraisal careers. Each of these licensing categories has different scope of operation as well as different requirements in education and experience. An applicant for Appraiser Assistant does not require any experience, though he/she must have completed the courses approved by the Oregon Appraiser Board.Oregon Real Estate Appraiser LicensingThe applicants also have to complete certain classroom hours in USPAP approved courses. Besides, you must pass in the exam conducted by the board to be considered for the award of a licensing category. The board may also ask to submit a criminal background check and a character certificate. Once you are awarded a license, you are required to complete continuing education in order to retain or move up in your status as an appraiser.

Such businesses involve precise assessment of the valuation of a real property.
