Pennsylvania Appraisal Board

Pennsylvania State Board of Certified Real Estate Appraisers has been created to regulate the certification process of real estate appraisers and issue licenses and certificates to persons wishing to make careers in appraisal services, after evaluating their abilities and verifying their credentials. The board reserves the right to approve or disapprove of an application for appraisal licensure or certification and it can even suspend or annul the licenses, it has already issued, upon receipt of a complaint of misconduct. The Pennsylvania Appraisal Board also establishes standards of professional appraisal practice and sees to it that PA appraisers are abiding by these.

Pennsylvania State Board of Certified Real Estate Appraisers

Pennsylvania State Board of Certified Real Estate Appraisers is served by seven members, four of whom must be state-certified real estate appraisers. Two of the members represent general public and one is the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or his/her designee. All these members of PA Appraisal Board meet at regular intervals to discuss issues concerning PA Appraisal Licenses, certifications, regulations and several others.

PA Appraisal License

There are several levels of appraisal licensure and the applicants have to decide beforehand which category of these suits them most. An entry level applicant can opt to become an Appraiser Assistant and get himself or herself registered for the same. In fact, they can only apply for this category of licensure, since other categories require experiences in appraising besides educational qualifications. The other categories of licenses include Licensed Residential, Certified Residential and Certified General. Even licensees from other states can also apply PA Appraisal License. They can do so by applying for reciprocal licenses or temporary practice permit.

Pennsylvania Real Estate Appraisers

As the services rendered by Pennsylvania real estate appraisers are significant enough for a number of real estate businesses and professions, it is essential that they should be regulated properly. This is exactly what Pennsylvania Appraisal Board is doing. Hence, with the protection provided by the board, the consumers can safely hire the licensed real estate appraisers for their various real estate activities, such as buying or selling real property or obtaining home mortgage loans .
