Rhode Island Association of Realtors

Rhode Island Association of Realtors (RIAR) is among the major trade associations in the state, which came into existence in 1948. Since its inception, the RI Association of Realtors has been serving real estate industry in the state by mobilizing real estate professionals statewide and increasing the degree of professional and ethical standards in real estate business practices through their continuous education and training. Today, there are about 4000 distinguished members in Rhode Island Realtors Association, who conduct their businesses according to a Code of Conduct and Standards of Practice, and are proved to be more user-friendly and authentic to consumers.

RI Association of Realtors: Their Objectives

The general objectives of Rhode Island Association of Realtors, also known as the Rhode Island Board of Realtors, match with those of the National Association of Realtors and focus on the creation of a real estate environment conducive to the professional growth of its members. Consequently, the RI Board of Realtors has become a major source for quality education, communication needs, technology support, legal solutions and various other services. Moreover, being an ardent advocate for use and transfer of real property, it helps consumers buy, sell and rent real property in Rhode Island quite conveniently.

Rhode Island Realtors Association: Its Membership

Rhode Island Association of Realtors offers three kinds of membership. Real estate licensees residing in the state can join it as primary members by taking a membership of any of its five local boards. A member of a local board of Realtors is simultaneously a member of the State Association and the National Association of Realtors. The NAR members from other states can join Rhode Island Realtor Association as a secondary member and for that , they need to forward an application to that effect online or contact a RIAR official staff. It is also possible for a real estate practitioner with no license to get a membership of RI Realtors Association. They can join it as an affiliate member and avail of many of its services.

Members of RI Association of Realtors are served in many ways. They are represented well in the state's legislatures on issues concerning legal aspects of real estate business. Next, they are provided with opportunities to earn professional designations and enhance skills and abilities.

RIAR members have to undergo a compulsory training in a Code of Ethics, which has become an important tool to distinguish realtors from others. Rhode Island Realtors Association also runs a public awareness campaign to educate consumers on various real estate issues and processes.
