South Carolina Real Estate License

South Carolina Real Estate License is a legal document of working in the real estate sector. South Carolina Real Estate License Requirements: For Salesperson

South Carolina real estate license is given to the salesperson who is 18 years of age. Candidate must have high school diploma or certificate equivalent to that. In pre-licensing education 60 hours of courses must be completed covering fundamental real estate. After clearing the real estate exam candidate can apply for the provisional sales license in SC. Then candidate can work within a year of clearing the exam under broker-in-charge. After getting the license, within a year, salesperson need to complete 30 hours of post licensing education, which is again approved by the Commission. After the completion of post licensing education, candidate can apply for the permanent status of the real estate license in South Carolina. No experience is needed for the examination of salesperson.

SC Real Estate Broker License

Brokers need to complete 150 hours of education and 90 hours can be from the salesperson license. Now if the candidate has law degree or bachelor's degree with real estate as major then part of the education requirements can be waived. The age of broker at the time of applying for South Carolina real estate license should be 21. To apply for SC real estate license for brokers, three years of experience as licensed salesperson is must to have within the period of five years immediately prior to applying for the real estate license in SC. Applicant can apply for the real estate brokers license within a year of completing the real estate exam.

Real Estate License Reciprocity


Non resident who is applying for the SC real estate license must also show the Certificate of Licensure showing history, education and any disciplinary action taken from the Commission or Board, whatsoever is the regulatory agency in that particular state. Reciprocal agreement with four other states are maintained by the South Carolina. Candidates applying for the SC real estate license from any other state mist meet the educational, examination, age and experience requirements of South Carolina. In this general portion of the examination can be exempted.

Eight hours of continuing education is must to be done in the period of two years for the South Carolina real estate license renewal. In this Current Federal and State Laws must be taken for two hours of course.
