However, home loan brokers are required to provide an amount of $25,000 as surety bond. The state has licensing requirements for loan officer and branch office however, it is not essential for the applicants to maintain a minimum net worth to get their license approval. Moreover, the brokers will have to pay a state licensing fee of $500 in order to get their state license.

South Dakota Mortgage Banker Licensing Requirements

It is not mandatory for the home mortgage bankers to maintain a physical location in order to get their mortgage license. Moreover, they are not required to provide any minimum net worth amount. The licensing division requires the applicants to maintain a surety bond in amount of $25,000. Branch office and the loan officers are also required to have their SD mortgage license in order to conduct their business. In addition, the applicants should pay a state licensing fee in amount of $1,000.
