South Dakota Appraisal Board |
The South Dakota Appraiser Certification Program functions as the South Dakota Appraisal Board to register, license and certify real estate appraisers and regulate real estate appraisal practices in the state of South Dakota. The purpose of the South Dakota Appraiser Certification Program, which comes under the Department of Revenue and Regulation is to enforce the Title XI of the Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery and Enforcement Act (FIRREA), so that the examinations of the candidates, issuance of certificates, investigation and administration of disobeying appraisers and approval of qualifying and continuing education courses can be done according to the laws, rules and regulations.South Dakota Appraisal LicenseThe licenses offered by the South Dakota Appraisers Board fall into two categories, one that requires no prior experience and the other requiring certain hours of experiences as a practicing appraiser in the state. There is only one kind of license in the first category, the possessor of which is allowed to practice as a registered appraiser. This is an entry level license, which enables a young appraiser to gain experience as is required for second category of licenses. The second category of licenses includes Licensed Appraiser, Residential Appraiser and General Appraiser. The candidates must follow the guidelines set by the Appraisal Qualifications Board as well as the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice to fulfill educational requirements for the issue of any of these licensing categories.South Dakota Real Estate AppraisersIt is thus clear that the South Dakota Appraisers are thoroughly examined and completely evaluated before issuing them a license. As a result, we have a good number of qualified real estate appraisers to serve in our various needs. They can estimate the value of a real property whether it is residential or commercial and let the owners act prudently during a business transaction. They also help people who are in need of home mortgage loans or those wishing to insure a real property against a calamity.
