Tennessee Real Estate License

Tennessee Real Estate License has many qualifying requirements that must be met by the candidates. These guidelines of issuing TN real estate license are according to the 1973 Tennessee Real Estate Brokers Act, Rules and Regulations and Tennessee Timeshare Act. Tennessee real estate licenses requirements, renewal needs etc are as follow.

Tennessee Real Estate License Course

Affiliate brokers who are applying for the TN real estate license need to complete 60 hours of education in Real Estate Principles and Fundamentals. The proof of the education is sent by the school from where the education has been taken to the PSI. Along with this certificate of course from the school is given to the candidate that should be submitted with the Tennessee Real Estate Commission at the time of applying for the real estate license in TN. Affiliate brokers who are licensed after 31st Dec 2004 must also complete 30 hours course for New Affiliates and submit this along with the real estate license application.

Tennessee Real Estate License Requirements

Tennessee real estate license requirements for the broker needs experience. Broker should be actively licensed for the period of four months if licensed on or before 12th May, 1988. If the candidate is licensed after 12th May 1988 then 36 months of active experience as affiliate broker is must. Applicant with baccalaureate degree with real estate as major subject needs 24 months of experience. Along with experience, Tennessee real estate license requirements also include education. Applicant for broker's license must complete 120 hours of real estate, out of which 30 hours are dedicated to the Office/Broker Management. Once these formalities are done candidate can send the application for real estate exam to the Commission. The Real Estate Commission after reviewing the whole thing will give its approval and it generally takes four weeks. After getting the approval candidate can sit for the exam. Clearing the exam means eligibility for getting real estate license in Tennessee.

Tennessee Real Estate License Reciprocity

Reciprocity is another way of getting TN real estate license. Some of the states have full and some have limited reciprocity with Tennessee. Candidates who are from the reciprocal state can apply for the license. For this applicants can download the forms from the official website. In this Certified License History must also be provided. Applicants from the non reciprocal states can also apply for the real estate license in TN. The requirements for the same are mentioned on the worksheets that can be downloaded from the site. Then the worksheet with Certified License History must be sent to the Tennessee Real Estate Commission, which after reviewing your application will tell the education and examination requirements. Any candidate whether resident of non resident who license has been revoked or suspended will not be issued the Tennessee real estate commission.

License Renewal

Tennessee real estate license renewal for the brokers who are licensed after 1st January 2001 requires 120 hours of education. Real estate license renewal is done in the period of two years as license is issued for two years. Along with fee, continuing education and report of errors and omission is also sent to the Commission.
