Texas Association of Realtors

Texas Association of Realtors (TAR) is the premiere trade organizations exclusively meant for the benefit of Texas real estate industry as well as its members across the state. Today, it represents over 90,000 realtors through many local boards of Realtors. The members of TX Association of Realtors are also the members of the National Association of Realtors and hence are entitled to use its registered trademark in their marketing materials. Realtors are quite different from ordinary real estate licensees in terms of professionalism and integrity, and provide better services to its clients. What really makes a Realtor different from others is the NAR Code of Ethics, which every member of TX Assoc of Realtors must pledge to abide by while joining.

Texas Association of Realtors, which is also known as Texas State Board of Realtors or Texas Board of Realtors came into existence in an era when there was no requirement for a license to run a real estate business in the state. The situation is changed now and today, anybody who wants to make a career in the business must have a real estate license. The licensing authority for real estate brokerage or sales in the state of Texas is Texas Real Estate Commission. Only a real estate licensee is qualified to take a membership in Texas Realtors Board.
