Utah Appraisal Board

Utah Division of Real Estate is the authorized state agency for licensing and regulating real estate appraisers. It does so through a special section, named as Utah Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board. According to the law of Utah, real estate appraisers must be registered or licensed with the concerned authority before they can commence appraisal practice anywhere in the state. The Utah Real Estate Division offers different types of licenses for practicing at different levels. Moreover, it has also defined minimum qualifications required for each type of licensure, though, on the basis of recommendations made by the Appraisal Qualifications Board.

Utah Appraisal License

The licensing categories being provided by the Utah Division of Real Estate includes Licensed Appraiser, Certified Residential Appraiser and Certified General Appraiser. Every kind of licensure has its separate requirements in education and can allow its possessor to appraise certain kinds of real properties. The Utah real estate appraisers are also required to have experiences in appraisal practices in order to become eligible for licensing under these categories.

Since Utah appraisal license is compulsory for any individual who performs or wishes to perform appraisal in the state, there are other categories of licenses that can suffice the needs of other kinds of appraisers. For example, fresh real estate appraisers who do not possess prior experience can register themselves as a trainee appraiser and begin their careers under the supervision of certified real estate appraisers. They can fulfill the criteria of experience while working in this way. Another category of appraisers include licensees from other states who need permission to perform appraisal practices in the state of Utah. Such professionals can obtain either reciprocal licenses or temporary permit to meet their specific requirements.

Utah real estate appraisers work in close cooperation with several other kinds of professionals, such as real estate agents , realtors or brokers. They also assist in the work of home insurance agents and the providers of financial services.
