Utah Real Estate Commission was established as a part of the Real Estate Division under the Department of Commerce for the welfare of the public. The main purpose of the Utah Real Estate Commision is to issue real estate license, defining pre-licensing and post licensing education, shaping the examination procedure etc for the principal broker, associate brokers, real estate companies, sales agent and branch offices.
Utah Real Estate Commission: Members
Members of the Utah Real Estate Commission are appointed by the Governor to serve for the period of four year and have the following requirement:
Four members of the commission should be experienced in the real estate sector and should be active broker, associate broker or sales agent
- One of the members should be from the general public
- One member was should not be the resident of first or second class county
Furthermore any of the member of real estate commission in Utah cannot serve for more than two terms. All the members collectively select one member to serve as chair. Utah Real Estate Commission meets on monthly basis but these meetings can be more than that with the discretion of the Director.
Functions of UT Real Estate Commisssion
Now the UT Real Estate Commission issues the license in the sector of real estate. For this they also define the curricula. For pre-licensing education real estate schools are approved and for the continuing education, the continuing education providers are accredited to give the needed education. Along with this instructors and course providers are also approved by the commission. Utah Real Estate Commision also has the administrative department that handles the funds and checks the overall working. Under this record keeping requirements and procedures are also handled.
Utah Real Estate Commission also investigates the complaints against the real estate law violators. These complaints are made by the direct customer against the licensed real estate professionals.
