The San Antonio Botanical Garden is a 33-acre, non-profit botanical garden in the heart of downtown. Visitors to this natural habitat will meander through many paths and find themselves surrounded by lush landscaping on their journey through nature’s beauty!

2. Concepcion Park
Concepcion Park is a 21-acre green space that offers everything from playgrounds and sport courts, all the way down to public swimming pools.
The Concepcion Park church is one of the most beautiful Spanish colonial structures in America. The sanctuary, nave and convent are still standing as well as its granary!
The oldest stone church in America, Mission Concepción has stood proudly for over two centuries. This mission is dedicated to making sure that the town’s history never fades away from its pastures due at least partly because of neglect or vandalism like other churches around California had faced before this one was saved by being restored with care and love instead!

3. Phil Hardberger Park
In the heart of San Antonio lies a 330-acre park that has been descriptively named Phil Hardberger Park. The beautiful green space was made possible by its dedication to one man and his passion, who wanted more people in this city to have access to nature’s blessings!

Travis Park is a beautiful, green sanctuary in the heart of downtown San Antonio. Once part of Alamo Mission and across from Saint Anthony Hotel it now offers visitors unparalleled views as well nature trails to explore!
Thanks to contributions from the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife Local Park fund, combined with a grant over $400 thousand dollars has been raised for improvements in Travis Park.
Travis Park, with its natural beauty and wide open spaces is one of the oldest municipal parks in America. It has served as an important gathering spot for San Antonio’s community.

5. Comanche Lookout Park

San Pedro Springs Park is the oldest park in Texas and it’s located right near San Antonio, just north of downtown. The 46-acre green space has countless amenities for visitors to enjoy including walking trails, amphitheater and picnic areas!

8. Denman Estate Park
Denman Estate Park is an oasis in the heart of downtown San Antonio. 9. Pearsall Park
Pearsall Park is a 505-acre oasis in the heart of San Antonio that offers an array of amenities for all ages and interests. Pearsall Park is a large recreation area with disc golf courses, playgrounds and skate parks. It’s also home to splash pads that provide relief for hot summer days when you need some fresh air or want an outdoor gym session before work!
Pearsall Park has doubled in size since 2012 thanks to a City Bond Program that purchased an additional 262 acres.
Pearsall Park is a premiere disc golf course in the San Antonio area. It was designed by Rialto Studios and professional golfer Paul Taylor, who knows his way around the greens as well!

10. Hemisfair Park
Hemisfair Park, home to the iconic Tower of Americas and many other attractions such as fountains and even playgrounds is an absolute must see for any visitor!
The opening day of Hemisfair Park was a great way to celebrate the 1968 World’s Fair. There were many attractions, including an amazing skyride and monorail system which took visitors around downtown San Antonio.
Hemisfair Park has been a public park for almost 50 years, but some of the structures from when it was called ’68 fairgrounds are still in use.
Hemisfair Park has long been a part of San Antonio’s history. It was once used for the World Fair, so it still houses iconic landmarks like Tower of The Americas and an amazing view from any point in which you stand!

11. McAllister Park
McAllister Park – a San Antonio park that offers visitors the chance to spend time outdoors, enjoy fresh air and sunshine with exercise on tap. Take your walk in this picturesque setting for some peaceful contemplation or just take advantage of all these amenities!
McAllister Park is a 976 acre park on the northside of San Antonio, between Jones Maltsberger and Wetmore Roads. It was originally purchased with funds from 1964 bond elections as well as federal grants for open space preservation which helped make this one-of-a-kind destination much more possible.
McAllister Park, when it first opened on April 13 1968 had four miles of trails and 125 picnic units. The restroom facilities were also present in this gorgeous little oasis for activities such as hiking or running free among nature’s beauty!
McAllister Park is a beautiful park that contains many amenities for everyone to enjoy. These improvements were made possible through the 1994 bond election and their funding includes an improved entrance road off of Starcrest Drive, additional parking capacity at trailheads along with accessible restrooms!

12. Woodlawn Lake Park
Woodlawn Lake Park is the perfect place to escape from it all. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing spot with gorgeous views of Woodland’s forest and its namesake lake, want some time fishing in a picturesque environment or just need somewhere safe where your children can play outside without fear–Woodlawn has what you need!
Woodlawn Lake Park is a great place to fish. You can go out on the banks of their pond or from one of two fishing piers that are stocked once per year with catfish!
Woodlawn Lake Park is the perfect spot for a day trip or weekend getaway. You don’t have to pay an entrance fee, and it’s open all year long!
Woodlawn Lake Park has a swimming pool that offers free open water swims for residents of all abilities from May through September.

13. Eisenhower Park
For those looking for hiking trails with breathtaking views, Eisenhower Park is the perfect place. The park offers more than 100 miles of paths that wind through some beautiful scenery in addition to its many relaxation areas like beaches and picnic tables!
Eisenhower Park is the perfect place to spend an afternoon with your pet. In addition to six miles of paved and unpaved trails, there’s a reconstructed observation tower at 1,280 feet offering stunning views of San Antonio from up high but be prepared for some droppings!
Eisenhower Park is a wonderful place to go if you’re looking for something different. This particular park offers an incline on the hike or run which most other parks don’t, making it one of my favorite spots in all of Texas!

14. San Antonio Missions National Historic Park
San Antonio Missions National Historical Park is a World Heritage Site that preserves four of the five Spanish frontier missions in San Antonio, Texas. These outposts were established by Catholic religious orders to spread Christianity among local natives – fulfilling their vow to convert more souls before death than during life!
The San Antonio Missions National Historic Park is home to four 1700s colonial missions, an excellent visitor center and trails. Guided tours are offered at this 948-acre park with over 700 years’ worth of history!
Take a journey back in time to the early years at Mission San Jose, Mission Concepcion, and other historic California missions. The four areas continue to host active Catholic churches, making your trip feel like a trip back in time to ancient Mexico!

15. Friedrich Wilderness Park
Friedrich Wilderness Park lies at the southern end of Texas, a region known for its hills. The park is located on an escarpment that separates it from flat land in South Texas and thus has many hilly features due to this geographical feature.
The Friedrich Wilderness Park is one of the most picturesque parks in Texas. The terrain varies from hilly to flat as it sits on top of Balcones Escarpment which was formed by millennia-old rocks that have been eroding ever since they were born out there!
Friedrich Wilderness Park is one of the most stunning parks in all of Florida, with approximately ten miles worth of hiking trails at various levels. It’s also home for rare birds and terrestrial orchids!

The city of San Antonio has a great park for you to enjoy, and it’s conveniently located in the center! Brackenridge Park is home to 343 acres with natural beauty that will take your breath away. The extraordinary scenery at the Friedrich Wilderness Park has 12,000 years’ worth of recorded prehistoric and human contact with San Antonio’s upper course.
Friedrich Wilderness Park is the largest park in San Antonio. The grounds contain a carousel, skyride and Japanese Tea Gardens for those who love to relax with some tea after an activity filled day of exploring!
